Our Calling at AHP...
ARLINGTON HILLS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH is a community of faith dedicated to serving the East Side of St. Paul. We strive to reach out to those in need as Christ commanded and welcome our diverse neighborhood. We are made up of European, African American and Asian members and regular visitors. We truly love and enjoy such rich and diverse ethnicity.
Our visitors often say that "we are a very friendly church."
If you have recently visited, we would appreciate comments about your worship experience. Send your comments to the church office at 1275 E. Magnolia Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55106, or by email to ahp@usfamily.com.We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings for Worship. Holy Communion is held on the first Sunday of each month. Sermons are generally based on the standard lectionary. Access the weekly scripture readings at: http://divinity.library.vanderbilt.edu/lectionary/link (permission granted to use web link), or read a recent sermon. AHP is handicap accessible.
We offer Christian education for all ages September through May...read more about CE offerings on the Christian Education page. AHP Youth activites are available to those in the seventh grade and older; visit the AHP Youth page for more information
AHP began as a mission church in 1885 link ...read about some of our ongoing mission work on the Missions page.
We are reknown on St. Paul's eastside for our music program that includes the Sanctuary Choir. Handbell Choir, African Community Choir, and a variety of vocalists, ensembles and instrumentalists. Read more about the music program on the Music page.
AHP founded the Eastside Children's Summer Program (ECSP) in 2007 after realizing that a significant number of children in our neighborhood spend their summer days alone at home without an adult presence in their lives. Since, for six weeks each summer, these children have been invited to attend this summer enrichment program -- without charge -- to constructively fill their days and feed their thirsty minds in a way that had been out of reach logistically and financially. AHP has continued to host this program, but in 2010 Lynn Pham became its executive director. Read more about this program on the Eastside Children's Summer Program page.
Additional church and community events that may be of interest are listed on the Church and Community Events page.
We publish a monthly newsletter, the "Heirloom." If you would like to receive this e-newsletter, send your request to the webmaster bbpassick@comcast.net.
AHP is a member of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area link, and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) link.
