Music

Through the ministry of music, we glorify God and strive to encourage commitment to Christ. The music in our service is ‘blended’ - many styles of music are used so that the hearts of a variety of people will be touched and inspired to worship. Congregational singing is accompanied by our Worship Team (with guitars and piano) and/or our pipe organ.

  • Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir leads in worship at the Sunday 10:00 a.m. service, and provides special music at Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, September into May.

    African Community Choir
We are blessed with a community of active African members. They share their talent, their hearts, and their joy in their music, and can usually be heard on the first and third Sundays of the month throughout the year, in addition to other special events such as some infant presentations and baptisms.

    Worship Team
On the second and fourth Sundays of the month throughout the year, our morning worship service begins with the congregation singing both traditional and newer hymns and songs of praise with a more contemporary flavor led by the worship team.

    Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir consists of 11 people ringing bells with a range of 3 octaves.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, September into May, and their ministry is heard several times throughout the year in worship services and other special times.

    Ensembles
Spiritual and musical gifts are developed through involvement in small groups and ensembles -- both vocal and instrumental -- that provide special music on various occasions. A men’s quartet, ‘Sing Fourth’, is one ensemble (gospel quartet style) that has been singing for a number of years. Vocal and instrumental soloists sometimes provide additional music during worship services. Many individuals who have a special musical talent enjoy sharing with the congregation their offerings of praise to God.
